Greetings from THRF!! Please join us on Tuesday 30th October for a Presentation and Discussion by Taylor Wessing Law Firm at 6:00.pm on, "Legal update - The Changing Landscape of Employment Laws in the UAE" This event is FREE for all THRF Members. OUTLINE OF THE PRESENTATION:
The Taylor Wessing Seminar will focus on how the landscape of the employment is changing in the UAE. The session will be particularly beneficial for officers who want to improve their in-house efficiency and ultimately minimise their organisation's exposure to liability risk.
This session will focus on:
The UAE legal framework from an employment law perspective;
Recent changes to visas and bank guarantee procedures in the UAE;
Recent changes to the Human Resources Law impacting public sector employees;
Impact of the Domestic Worker Labour Law;
Proposed changes to the DIFC employment law;
Dispute resolution procedures for labour matters.

ABOUT AQSA SADIQ: Aqsa Khan Sadiq is a UK trained qualified Solicitor of England and Wales. She has graduated from Queen Mary, University of London and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. She is an Employment Associate at Taylor Wessing (Middle East) LLP. Aqsa advises on both DIFC employment and UAE Labour Law contentious and non-contentious matters. Aqsa’s contentious employment work includes handling arbitrary dismissal claims, dealing with redundancy/restructuring, advice on disciplinary hearings and sanctions and advising on DIFC employment law litigation. Aqsa is instructed by both employees and employers. Her diverse nature of clients consists of, international companies, private individuals and local and regional entities
ABOUT THENJI MACANDA: Thenji Macanda is a UK trained and qualified Specialist Employment Associate. She is an Admitted Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and prior to working in the Middle East, she worked in the Employment Rights Unit in one of the largest national firms in the UK for five years. Thenji effectively advises clients with contentious and non-contentious matters on a wide range of employment issues predominantly based on the UAE Labour Law (including the free-zone employment regulations) and DIFC Employment law. Thenji is a visiting lecturer in Employment Law at the University of Middlesex, Dubai and regularly provides specialist Employment law updates and HR Seminars. She is also currently registered on the Pro-Bono volunteer scheme at the DIFC (Dubai International Finance Centre Courts)
